Our auditing for the new standard BSEN 9001:2015 has now started. Transmag have also invested in a new Power Press which will increase our production performance!

Transmag have now completed our preparation for the new BSI Transition BSEN 9001:2015. We are now ready for our assessment!

Transmag are pleased to announce the introduction of our new Welding Section! Along with our new area, we have had a TIG/MMA Inverter Welder fitted!

During April, Transmag had our annual BSI Audit to conform to BSI to BSEN 9001:2008. This will run until 2018, where we will be looking to implement the new BSEN 9001:2015.

After a busy month of March, Transmag are now proud to announce we have completed our ABB Supplier Registration via Achilles.

Transmag have recently had a new 33kV Outdoor Mould Casting manufactured. Having this mould will now increase Transmag's Product Range for the future allowing us to cater to more customers.

All of us here at Transmag hope you had a brilliant Christmas, and a Happy New Year! We are proud to announce our new upgrade to our Vacuum System to enhance our production facilities for our Cast Resin Transformers. Not only does this have a positive effect on our products, it also has a positive effect on the Planet as our electricity usage has been reduced! This was completed by Leybold.

November 2015


Transmag are pleased to announce that during November 2015, we have been able to take on a further two apprentices. They will be undertaking a business study course, and an engineering IT and drawing programme within our offices.


August 2015


Transmag are proud to state that we are now officially able to offer to the market the manufacturing capability for constant wattage transformers and chokes, as previously used by Heraeus Amba Ltd. We have taken from Banbury all of the neccessary winding jigs and formers, along with winding machines and techincal design sheets to the full range of their transformers and chokes.


Testing can be carried out as we also obtained their main test console and auxcilary test housing. As we also have our own special voltage and current transformer test facility, this will allow us to have a very capable testing process.


We are looking forward to adding further information on the product range to our website during 2016.


May 2015


During May 2015, Transmag undertook a programme of Fork Lift Training for both new and refresher courses at our works. Transmag used an external training company to RTITB registration. We would like to give a congratulations to all employees that completed this training successfully:

April 2015


Transmag were visited by BSI for an audit. This was the last visit by BSI to access our three year plan for BS EN 9001:2008. This was a successful visit as they ensured we maintained our BSI accreditation. At the end of this assessment, we also started the process of our next three year plan with the goal of being ready for the new BSI assessment to BS EN 9001:2015.


January 2014


The directors are pleased to confirm that Mr Chris Smith will be joining our company on Monday 13 January 2014, Chris will joining our design and engineering team.


We know that with the design knowledge of transformers that Chris Smith will bring to our company will be further enhanced with our own style of voltage and current transformers.


Our long term plan is to further develop our design and engineering capabilities to continue the long term future of our company.

Transmag UK Ltd is twenty years of age, this year will see us begin our twentieth year starting in November 1993 from the MBO of EPMS Transformers LTD & EPMS Magnet Services (Special Coils) more to follow later in 2013.

Our current transformer shop has taken delivery of a new RW 55 winding machine fitted with Winding Technology programme control system this further complements our range of winding machines and increases our capacity in this area.

Audit training


We are pleased to announce that we have successful completed our first BSI three year audit plan and we how look forward to the next three year plan taking us to 2015.

Transmag will be undertaking the training of up to four new auditors from within the company. This training will be undertaken by ISO Quality Services Ltd at Transmag on the 3 / 4 of April 2012.

Transmag UK Limited will be closed for the Easter shunt down from Monday to Tuesday 9 -10 Aprill 2012. Works open on Wednesday 11 April 2012.


BSI Audit ISO 9001-2008 third year assessment

Transmag BSI audit will take place this year on April 23 2012 and we are pleased to welcome back our client manager Mr Geoffrey Blakemore.


March 2012

New Winding machine


Transmag have just taken delivery of our new high speed winding machine, this has been designed to meet current and future needs in our HV winding shop.


New resin dispensing machine


Transmag have just taken delivery commission and training of our new two part pump action pressurised resin dispensing machine from Dopag (UK) Limited this machine will give us more capacity in our current transformer cast resin department.


February 2012

Vacuum forming machine


Transmag vacuum forming department is now fully operational. The new Clarke 1820 vacuum forming facility is now up and running producing ABS moulds for our product range within the current transformer department. This will assist in the further development of this range of items and reduce lead times for our production.


April 2011


We are pleased to announce that Transmag (UK) Limited has just been awarded a further contract by Ceylon Electricity Board for the supply of an additional 30 of our TMOMU36 Metering Units due for delivery in June of this year.


February 2011

(Easter shutdown 2011)


Easter falls in late April this year and its conjunction with the additional public holiday announced for the Royal Wedding on April 29th we have decided to shut our works for the whole of the Easter Week this year.


Transmag (UK) will therefore be closed from the close of business on Friday April 22nd until Monday 2nd May. This means that we will remain open for business on both Good Friday (22nd April) and the May Day Holiday Monday (2nd May).


We regret any inconvenience this shutdown may cause to any of our customers but hope that the early announcement of these arrangements will help to mitigate this.


Ceylon Electricity Board contractJanuary 2011


Transmag (UK) Ltd is yet again pleased to announce that work is in progress on a further 35 TM OMU36 metering units  for Ceylon Electricity Board Region 3. When delivered this will bring the number to 86 of these units shipped to Sri Lanka since September 2010.


October 2010


Transmag (UK) Ltd is pleased to announce that they have won a further contract from Ceylon Electricity Board, Sri Lanka for the supply of an additional 20 of itsTM OMU 36 Metering Units. This latest order follows the delivery of 31 similar units to Sri Lanka in September.

It has just been announced that Transmag Power Transformers has been purchased by Ultra Electronics Corporation. Transmag (UK) Limited wishes to make clear that it has no connection with either company. As an independent manufacturer Transmag (UK) Ltd will continue to offer its full range of products and services to all of its customers.

Transmag (UK) Ltd is pleased to welcome Mr A M Jayakody, deputy General Manager (Pr & IIM), Ceylon Electricity Board to its Birmingham factory to complete inspection and testing of 33KV metering Units on the completion of its latest contract from CEB. Mr Jayakody will visit our works from August 3rd to 6th 2010.

We would like to offer our congratulations to our employee Arran Powell on his successful completion of a Foundation Degree in Electrical Power Engineering at Aston University. Arran attended his course on a block release basis sponsored by the company.

New Contract


Transmag (UK) Limited is pleased to announce that it has been awarded a contract to supply thirty one (31) 33KV Oil Filled Outdoor Metering Units to Ceylon Electricity Board in Sri Lanka.

UVDB - Verify


Transmag (UK) Ltd. has been listed as a registered supplier of instrument transformers on the UVDB database for some time. We are pleased to announce that we have now successfully completed the Verify process as a Category A supplier.

The Verify process is an assessment of the company's practices and procedures for Safety, Health, Environment and Quality. The assessment is conducted by Achilles Information Ltd. and the scores awarded are shown on the Verify Certificate issued on completion of the assessment. Customers who have access to the UVDB database can view the certificate online. Copies can also be made available on request from Transmag (UK) Ltd.

Balfour Beatty Accreditation


Transmag is pleased to announce that it has now become a formally accredited supplier to Balfour Beatty Engineering Services. The company has undergone a formal process with the TIVA Supplier Accreditation Programme issued by Exor Management Services and Transmag has achieved the standard and been assessed as Gold Status. Balfour Beatty Engineering Services is the amalgamation of Balfour Kilpatrick, Cruickshanks, Lounsdale Electric and Haden Young and is one of the UK's largest providers of electrical and mechanical services.

Transmag Connects with National Grid


We have started an exercise with National Grid to examine older ancillary transformers from power generating stations with a view to repairing and refurbishing them. In those cases where the units have deteriorated beyond economic repair we are supplying replacement units.

Repair and refurbishment is usually the preferred option by reason of economy and also because it means the unit is out of service for the least possible time.


Transmag’s New 24KV Cast Resin Single Phase Voltage Transformer


Transmag (UK) Limited is pleased to announce the first sales of its new 24KV single phase cast resin voltage transformer to BS EN 60044-2. Available with single, double or triple secondary windings. Supplier Open Days


We are pleased to have been invited to Supplier Open Days held by Brush Turbogenerators in June and Hawker Siddeley Switchgear in August. Our thanks go to both companies for interesting and informed presentations and discussions. In our view such events are extremely useful in fostering a better understanding of our customers needs by improving the communication process. Our thanks also go to all our employees whose efforts in meeting our clients’ requirements are instrumental in our success.




Transmag (UK) Ltd. has re-commissioned its Ruff RW55 toroidal winding machine which increases its capacity to wind large ring type current transformers up to 900mm in diameter


Special Windings


Transmag (UK) Ltd. has recently completed the rewinding of three large heating induction coils used in titanium furnaces for Birmingham Engineering Services. As these coils are immersed in water to cool them when in service great care has to be taken when sinding to maintain the integrity of the wire covering.

Transmag (UK) Ltd. has successfully completed its annual assessment by BSI in respect of its BS EN ISO9001:2008 certification and re-certification confirmed.
